Spitzelt uns WhatsApp aus? Das lässt ein Blick in das Privatsphäre-Dashboard vermuten. Es handelt sich aber um einen Bug.

Aufmerksamkeit erhielt der Bug erst, weil der Twitter-Ingenieur Foad Dabiri darüber twitterte. Er teilte ein Bild des Privatsphäre-Dashboards seines Smartphones, das anzeigt, wie oft einzelne Apps auf Funktionen wie Standort, Kamera oder Mikrofon zugreifen. Das Dashboard gab dabei an, dass WhatsApp mehrmals mitten in der Nacht das Mikrofon nutzte.

WhatsApp reagierte auf den Tweet und vermutet einen Android-Fehler dahinter. Dieser Bug ordne Informationen im Privatsphäre-Dashboard falsch zu. Man habe bereits Google gebeten, den Bug zu untersuchen und zu beheben.

Wer sich ganz sicher gehen will, der kann WhatsApp die Berechtigung, auf das Mikrofon zugreifen, einfach nehmen ...

Je nachdem, welches Android-Telefon Du hast, gehst du dabei unterschiedlich vor:

Öffne die Einstellungen deines Telefons und tippe auf Apps & Benachrichtigungen > WhatsApp > Berechtigungen.

Oder ...

Öffne die Einstellungen deines Telefons und tippe auf Apps > Apps verwalten > WhatsApp > App-Berechtigungen oder Sonstige Berechtigungen.
